There has never been a more important time for young people to get to grips with Financial Education and money management skills. 74% of teachers state that Financial Education provides young people with the essential knowledge they need to go out into the world.
Although Financial Education has been given greater priority over the past few years, a MoneySense survey of teachers across the UK reveals that only 15% of teachers surveyed were very confident about delivering Financial Education lessons, with 42% saying they were not confident at all. To address this, the RBS group has designed and introduced these free training days.
"It has been one of the best teaching events (if not the best) I have ever attended."
"A very interesting day that makes me, as a non-specialist, feel more confident delivering [financial education]."
"I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I will try to think outside the box when planning in future."
The RBS group has a long history of supporting Financial Education and offers a range of resources to use in schools, which can be found here: www.rbs.co.uk/moneysenseforschools.
